Buttery ivory cotton mulmul with roses scattered across it: soft rose-pink and blush blooms, deeper wine outlines, dusty sage leaves, and plenty of clear ground in between so the print stays quiet rather than busy. The kind of floral that looks like it came out of an old chintz archive, not off a screen.
The bodice is shaped with panel seams and a curved waist seam that dips to a soft point at the centre front, then releases into a gathered skirt. Puff sleeves with a pleated cap. A square neckline that sits neatly on the collarbone. Self-covered fabric buttons run the full length of the front — button it all the way for a standalone maxi dress, or leave the skirt open over trousers and you have a completely different outfit.

Fit
True to size, with a fitted bodice and a full skirt. If you're between sizes, size up for room through the bust. Model is 5'4" and wears a size S. Detailed measurements are in the size chart above.
Style It Two Ways
As a dress — buttoned through, with tan flat sandals and a straw basket bag. Small gold hoops, nothing more.
Over trousers — button the bodice, leave the skirt open, and wear it over white or ivory straight-leg trousers. Add block heels and oxidised jhumkas to take it into the evening.

This dress is unlined — that's what keeps mulmul as light and breathable as it is. The fabric is a fine loose weave, so it's best worn with a slip. It drapes rather than holds a shape, and softens with every wash. Wash the first time separately in cold water.
